Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Magic Kids, & Puro Instinct at The Doug Fir Loung last night

Dave and I rode our bikes from 103rd and Division for this one. We pre-gamed at the B-Side and passed Ariel and his group on the street along the way. "Mr. Pink! Excited for the show, man!", I said. He smiled and said thanks and continued in his serious looking discussion.
Dave and I proceeded to the Doug Fir patio, and collaborated thoughts over Strange Moss strategies and what the future held. While observing the crowd, I recognized many faces, including Ruth from Chromatics, who we ended up standing next to during the show.
Ariel captured everyone's attention immediately for the night when he took the stage with Puro Instinct for a song. Puro Instinct put me in a trance and I forgot where I was for a bit. Skylar was stroking a guitar I've never seen before while Piper moaned sweet nothings to eager ears. Think Russian space station being lured into a hurling asteroid via siren song. That's how they sound.
Then the Magic Kids told of how they had "never played in a cabin before", referring to the log lined walls of The Doug Fir. I was blown away by their handicapped keyboard player, who had a big goofy grin on the whole night. The sing-along style songs were too fresh for me to sing to but I was inspired to go home and learn.
Ariel took us home, inspiring a rowdy dance pit with crowd surfing and finger shedding wails. Ariel threatened it was their last song countless times, which got everyone more riled up throughout. Near the end, he even lit up a cigarette, which the bouncer promptly confiscated.
